School Olympics Las Rozas

Here you have a webpage where you can check the weather forecast for tomorrow and Tuesday: (let's cross our fingers so that it doesn't rain!)

And this is another webpage from where you can hopefully see your performance at the Olympics, as cameras have been installed to record your efforts! Cool, huh?

Good luck for everyone! and remember: the most important thing is to have a good time practicing your favourite sport!

Star size comparison

As the other day we went to NASA and we learned about planets and stars, I wanted to upload this video that compares the sizes of planets in our solar system and some stars. It's amazing to think of how little we actually are compared to what is out there!

Enjoy it!

Videos for KET speaking test

Here you can watch two videos of KET speaking tests. The first one only shows part 2 of the test. You've already seen the second one in class, but it's useful to watch them again and try to think of things they've done right and things they could improve.

The most important thing is that you are relaxed and confident! We have been practising a lot and you are going to do great! :)

What defines you?

Hello, everyone!

Yesterday we watched this talk by Lizzie Velasques, a girl who has overcome a very difficult life and who gives an incredible motivational speech. We will continue to work on this next Friday, but I wanted to upload the video here so that you can watch it again if you want.
While you watch it again, think:
- What would you do if you were in her shoes?
- What would you do if a girl like her were in your class?
- She's had a really hard life, but do you think she's happy?
- Do you think people who know her see her for what she is inside or for her outer appearance?

I hope you learn a lot from her.
Have a nice weekend!

RATHER BE----> CLEAN BANDIT

Here you have our song of the week, "Rather be", and another song by Beyonce, "If I were a boy". In both of these songs they use one type of conditional, especially in Beyonce's, because she describes all the things she would do if she were a boy.
What type of conditional is used in both songs? can you put an example of each? Comment below for a positive in English.

Enjoy!

Reported Speech!

Hello, everyone!

Today in class we've been learning about Reported Speech.

Remember that most of the times, when we report speech to another person, we need to change the verb tense and the time marker, according to these tables:

You can see the full explanation that you have on paper here.

*Now, try to report these quotes by famous people (on your notebooks):

“I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.”
Groucho Marx

“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you don't deserve me at my best.”
―
Marilyn Monroe

“I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.”

“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”

Hey, brother.

Here you have last week's song, with the lyrics.

Try to find at least two full condicional sentences and tell me if they are zero, first or second conditional to gain a positive in English!!

Enjoy!
