Simple and Compex machines

Hello, everyone!

As you know, we're learning about simple and complex machines in Science. We know that machines are things that make our work easier and safer. Complex machines, like the bicycle, are made up of different simple machines working together.

In this video, you can see the importance of complex machines like robots. Robots are very useful in factories, where mass-produced products are made. If we didn't have robots, this work would be difficult, dangerous and it would take a long time.
It's very interesting to see how fast and efficiently these robots put the car pieces together as if it was a puzzle.

This last video shows the launching and landing of the robot "Curiosity" on Mars. This is a VERY complex machine. Imagine building a rocket with a robot inside that can get as far as Mars... And not only that, this robot can send us pictures from there and it can take samples, too!!
Watch the video carefully, let's see if you can answer these questions:
- How long did the robot take to get to Mars?
- Where does "Curiosity" get the energy from, to work?
- Why do you think the scientists at NASA were so happy?

Here I post the video that Pedro showed us in his presentation. It's a complex machine made out of lego pieces. It's fascinating to see how all the simple machines work together!
